I became interested in photography in 1983 when I entered the Navy and bought my first decent camera. I quickly mastered the basic camera operations and began taking pictures and practicing what I’d learned. I was able to photograph many different sites and images and my interest in photography grew rapidly.
For many years my family and friends were my main images. I took pictures for enjoyment and for practice with composition, lighting and artistic perspective.
Although I chose a different vocation, my interest and self-education in photography has flourished over the years. After having taken numerous pictures just for friends I began photographing sporting events and weddings too. My enjoyment to capture pictures that are creative and timeless has grown to include children and highschool seniors.
In my 20 some years of experience and in the age of digital, I still feel that what makes a photographer great is his or her creativity!
